fine art EXHIBITION
“Five years on, our students continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience and creativity. Having navigated the initial shift to virtual learning during the pandemic, they’ve adapted and thrived, producing exceptional work. While we still value physical exhibitions, we are thrilled to showcase their talent and dedication virtually, celebrating their achievements and congratulating them on their graduation.

Seasons serve as an endless well of inspiration, shaping my creative process and the stories I craft through art, each embodying distinct rhythms, moods, and symbolism—spring’s renewal, summer’s vitality, autumn’s transformation, and winter’s serenity. I interpret these cycles through color, texture, and form, with spring’s awakening expressed in soft lines and bright hues, summer’s warmth captured in bold contrasts, autumn’s fleeting beauty reflected in earthy tones, and winter’s quietude conveyed through meditative simplicity. These seasonal transitions symbolize the passage of time and our intrinsic bond with nature’s rhythms, allowing my work to mirror both the external landscape and internal growth, ultimately fostering a sense of wonder, nostalgia, and reverence for the perpetual evolution of our world.

The artist explores the duality of beauty by creating tension through maximalism, elegance, and abject aesthetics, emphasizing a personal affinity for sculpture, which involves chaotic environments and diverse materials like yarn, lace, and thrifted objects to evoke absurdity by contrasting pretty and grotesque textures. Additionally, they are a painter focused on color, surreal, dream-like themes, often featuring nude women and sanpaku eyes, incorporating fabric and oil pastels to enhance the surreal tone. Across mediums, the artist values creating tension and organized chaos, embracing methodical busyness and continuous learning, with a process rooted in freedom, community, and exploration. Rhiannon K. Lewis, BFA
Fine Art Candidate, 25’
My artist statement reflects a passion for storytelling inspired by nature, aiming to evoke tangible impressions of my narratives through traditional techniques. Utilizing multiple mediums, I depict scenes that explore themes like love, loss, curiosity, and longing, transforming my work into immersive experiences via relief, texture, color, and movement. Reliefs project my art into the physical space, while textures add visual interest and invite touch. Saturated colors highlight key elements and guide the viewer’s gaze, and dynamic movement directs the eye across the piece, conveying emotion and action. Together, these elements create lively, engaging artworks that invite viewers to connect deeply with the stories and sensations I seek to share.
